Crochet Pattern - crocheted handbag / tote bag with banded design - uses t-shirt yarn & recycled handles
Using this pattern you can create this stylish, contemporary crocheted handbag. Crocheted from t-shirt yarn, you can use the colour of your choice to reflect your personality. The finished bag shown measures approximately D12cm x W31cm x H18cm (without the handles), but the size of your bag will vary depending on the thickness of the yarn used, your hook size and tension of stitches.
To make this bag, you will need the following materials:
• Approx. 120m off t-shirt yarn, the bag shown uses one grande roll of Tek Tek yarn
• 8mm - 10mm crochet hook (as appropriate for thickness of yarn)
• Handles - can be recycled from an old, unwanted bag or bought new - choose colour and style to suit your preference and complement the yarn colour
My patterns are written in English and use UK terminology for stitches. You will need basic crochet skills and be able to complete the following basic crochet stitches and actions:
Chain stitch, double crochet (UK) and slip stitch
