Learn how to a create a stunning statuette using fabric sculpting techniques.

You will learn:

  • how to build a base structure for your statuette

  • how to work with either a pre-moulded full bust or a flat backed face/skull

  • how to create different wing shapes using wire

  • how to create bespoke colours of fabric hardener

  • which fabrics work best

  • how to sculpt using fabrics on a three dimensional project

  • how to apply colour to your statuette to enhance the textures and create beautiful shading

In this workshop, you will be taught lots of different techniques needed to create your statuette. Whether you want to create a winged creature, a ghoul or a more traditional figurine, this workshop will teach you how.

Whilst previous experience of fabric sculpting would be beneficial before attempting this project, everything is fully explained and demonstrated right down to the basics. Therefore beginners will still be able to successfully complete this project although it may take you a little longer.

I will also share my colouring technique for applying colours that will really enhance all your textures and add depth through shading.

When I run this as a traditional workshop, it normally lasts a full day (around 5-6 hours). This allows time for me to demonstrate all of the techniques used and for participants to complete their statuettes. My online videos are condensed versions of my workshops and hence the videos are shorter than the usual session. Don't worry, they still include all of the information, demonstrations and teaching aspects of my workshops just minus the extra time for participants to complete each stage.

Please pause and replay the video as much as you need to allow you the additional time required to complete your own journal.

Your finished statuette will measure approx 40-45cm tall.
